Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi’s business and lifestyle destination, is inviting residents and visitors to usher in 2018 with a star-studded music spectacular. Visitors are welcome to the Island to celebrate with ‘The Caesar of Arabic music,’ Kadim Al Sahir and Khaleeji superstar, Balqees as they perform live in on the waterfront Promenade at Al Maryah Island, the capital’s business and lifestyle destination.
The festivities will spread across the island, with a plethora of entertainment including festive food trucks and activities for the whole family. Doors open from 7 pm; the celebrations will take place from 10 pm – 1 am and are free to attend. Entry to the main concert area is on first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 1,500 visitors. Other guests will have access to the other areas of the Promenade, as well as Abu Dhabi Global Market Square on Al Maryah Island.

Prime spots on the Promenade as well as parking will fill up early and guests are encouraged to arrive in good time.
New Year’s Eve on Al Maryah Island is a very popular event and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the Promenade, Abu Dhabi Global Market Square North and South, and the parking reach full capacity, access to the island will be restricted.
Visitors can enjoy shopping at Abu Dhabi’s luxury shopping and dining destination, with shops at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island staying open until 10pm.
Restaurants at Al Maryah Island will serve up delectable dishes from all across the world all night long; from sumptuous set menus at the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island and bountiful buffets at Rosewood Abu Dhabi, to casual fare from The Galleria and trendy food truck tucker at the Island’s music concert spectacular. Restaurant bookings are essential so that visitors don’t miss out, and a booking reservation must be presented to gain entry on the night. Restaurants reserve the right to refuse admission if a valid booking reservation is not provided.

For the first time in the story of Rosewood Abu Dhabi the culinary team will showcase a fabulous New Year’s Eve Gala to welcome 2018 in utter sophistication with delicious food and live music in a Black & White melody. A unique journey rolled out in a secret waterfront area with front row seats to the Al Maryah Island fireworks show, experienced by few connoisseurs, as space is limited to 100 guests and is priced at AED 950 per guest.
Head to Sambusek, the hotel’s authentic Lebanese outpost for a lively evening with friends. Celebrate the New Year with a very special evening with Roberto’s contemporary Italian cuisine. Bringing in 2018 with a BANG the Roberto’s Lounge will also play host to international DJ TCTS for his first ever set in the UAE. The spectacular Al Maryah Island fireworks display will provide the perfect countdown backdrop. Restaurant packages include indoor with AED 600 minimum spend per person, semi terrace AED 1,000 minimum spend per person (smoking allowed, guest under 21 years only allowed on the terrace). NEED TO KNOW
On December 31st, the Promenade will be closed until 7 pm. Doors will open at 7 pm and celebrations will kick off from 10 pm.
Safety and Security
We have a number of measures in place to ensure the thousands of guests expected to attend have a safe and pleasurable experience.
Guests will be screened by metal detectors on arrival as they enter the venue via each entrance.
As with any event where there are large numbers of people, it is advisable to practice personal security, keeping a close watch on children and personal belongings.
Our information desk will be located in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island if you have questions or need more information on the night.
To avoid congestion along the Promenade it will be kept chair- and stroller-free on December 31st. A designated stroller park area will be available so guests with young children can store their strollers securely, and join the celebrations. Families can also watch the fireworks at vantage points in Abu Dhabi Global Market Square North and South.
Restricted Access to Al Maryah Island
To ensure guests have a safe and pleasurable experience, access to Al Maryah Island will be restricted as it reaches capacity in the lead-up to the midnight countdown.
Parking and Roads Closure
Limited parking for 5,000 cars is available at Al Maryah Island. We encourage guests to arrive early or plan to use alternative transportation methods (public transportation or taxi), to make the most of the evening. Once car parks reach full capacity, all cars will be directed off the island, and access to Al Maryah Island will be limited to taxis, public transportation and emergency vehicles only.
Bridge 4 (from Saadiyat Road) and Bridge 11 (from Reem Island) will be closed on December 31st.
Valet services at Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island will only be available for guests staying at the hotels or with restaurant reservations that must be presented on arrival. All guests should arrive early to ensure access to Al Maryah Island, which will be closed to traffic (except taxis, public transportation and emergency vehicles) once car parks reach capacity. There will be no valet service at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island on the night.
